San Diego, CA-- In the largest criminal case involving civilian
deaths to come out of the Iraq war, Attorney Jeremiah J. Sullivan,
III was
retained by a Naval Academy graduate to represent his interests.
Last year, Marines were accused of the killings of 24 Iraqi civilians
during a door-to-door sweep in the town of Haditha.
Attorney Sullivan
met at length with the lead prosecutor during the course of the
investigation. Subsequently, four Marine Corps Officers and four
enlisted Marines
were charged with violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The government did not file court martial charges against Attorney
Sullivan’s client.
